t-shirt scarf

Easy Peasy!!! Lemon Squeezy!!! Shells and Cheesy!!! This t-shirt scarf can be made in about 30 minutes. There is no sewing involved just cutting, so all you need is a t-shirt of your choice (old or new) and a pair of scissors and a rotary cutter is helpful if you have one, but make sure to cut on a cutting mat if you use it!.  You can watch the video on how to make a t-shirt scarf on Youtube

Christmas Time with the Twins

On November 26 My husband and I took the twins, Drake and Donovan, out to eat at Pizza Hut.  We purchased a cheese pizza and a pepperoni pizza with cheese sticks.  The twins ate and ate.  They are growing boys you know!  It all goes to their feet...lol.  Then we went to the Fantasy of Trees were the boys made ornaments, went to the Santa Shop, rode the merry-go-round & the berry-go-round, and participated in activities at the play station.  There were gingerbread houses and so many trees....beautiful decorated Christmas trees.  They had a fifties theme as well.  All the proceeds benefited Children's Hospital.  Then we went to the Smokey Stadium for the drive thru of Christmas lights sequenced with great Christmas songs such as Christmas with a Capital C and Silent Night.  We stopped by the Santa Village to visit the one and only Santa ;) and to visit the petting zoo.  I was almost attacked by an ostrich...not really, but it was too close for comfort for me.  There were ponies, goats, llamas, and other animals.  They had a camel ride, kiddie Ferris wheel, giant slide, train ride, and more. The boys ended the Christmas adventure by eating a giant sugar cookie.  Now it was time to head home for supper and a good night sleep.  This was one of the best days of our lives!  Being a Nana and Pappy rocks!

THE LOVE BANNER

This banner was lots of fun to create.  It is cheery and romantic.  The Love Banner would embellish any adults or child's room as a reminder of what matters in our lives.  My husband celebrated another birthday today, and our love has grown with each passing year.  Some years are easier and some years are more difficult, but with the seasons of our love it has always been worth it.

CAMPING FOR THE LOUIE BLUIE FESTIVAL
We had a fantastic time with friends in Carryville, TN camping @ Cove Lake.  It was really cold that weekend, but we had a campfire that kept us cozy.  Friends, hot chocolate, good conversation, a warm fire, and lots of laughter…now that was a great weekend.  Not to mention, the swing/jazz music, various craft vendors, and great camp & vendor food topped the mini vacay off.  There were lots of talented people gathered together in one of the most beautiful places in Tennessee.  We listened to the Tennessee Sheiks sing and play swing/jazz.  They were great!  There was also gospel, blue grass, and the blues genre of music.  I have posted pictures of our campsite.  It looks isolated because a lot of people left after one night because it was so cold.  I recommend you go to the festival next year and visit their Louie Bluie website to get a sense of it.  The video on the website was not this year’s festival…They were wearing shorts in that video, and we were wearing hats and gloves this year.

A Visit to Shaker Village

My husband and I along with my in laws and cousins went to visit the Shaker Village in Pleasant Hill, KY.  We walked the land, visited the houses, learned the history of the Shakers, petted cats, goats, & horses, and went on a riverboat cruise.  We had a traditional Shaker’s meal consisting of chicken croquettes in mushroom wine sauce, fresh green beans from the garden, mashed potatoes, fresh cole slaw, tiny corn cakes with butter, and squash soup made with veggies from the garden.  It was a peaceful day of laughter and learning, along with   some reminiscing.    I was able to observe some of the Shakers' quilts.  I hope you enjoy the pictures.  I recommend a visit to Shaker’s Village.
