FESTIVALS

My husband and I went to the Scottish/Irish Festival in Dandridge,Tn this weekend.  It was a small quaint town with very unique shops in vintage homes and buildings.  It is right by the lake and just beautiful.  There was music, singing, and dancing representing these cultures.  We enjoyed our visit there.

We also went to the Greek Fest in Knoxville, Tn, which is a favorite of ours.  The best Greek food ever!  Great music and dancing.  The Greeks know how to celebrate.  My husband ran into a long time friend there which made it even better for him and I finally got to meet Bill and his family in person.  It was like seeing two lost brothers who had finally found each other.  The smiles on their faces said it all.

KAT Embroidery and Designs: Busy Weekend

KAT Embroidery and Designs: Busy Weekend: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMWEnPyY1JA.

Busy Weekend

It was a great weekend, but a busy one.  I decorated a t-shirt by making a patch and sewing it on on so The Boyzz could raffle it off at their show Saturday night (just one of the many tasks of the day).  I forgot to take a picture, so I could post it.   I had worked with the manager all day Friday, until late evening, advertising for the band and making cd's.  We also designed an iron on for another shirt, which took some time.   We collected a satisfied amount of money on the raffle tickets Saturday night at their show, which helped raise money so they can go in the studio to make a new cd.  Check out The Boyzz from Tennesee on Youtube.  They're awesome.  Also, on Thursday night I attended the 38 Special concert, and they have not lost their pizazz!

Bare With Me!!!

Photos coming soon.  I've had to figure out some technical things.  Just finished a cosmetic bag and a t-shirt dress for one of the girlfriends of the drummer in The Boyzz band.  I am going to have her model so I can post it.  I also finished more clips.  It has been very busy around my house lately.  I had family from out of town in last weekend to see The Boyzz play at the Tennessee Valley Fair.  The show was great.  We sold some cd's too.  This goes toward studio time for a new cd.  Some school activities with the twins and out of town family coming back in for some festivals, 9 mile rummage sale, and shopping in Ktown.  As always....sewing, sewing, and more sewing!

September 7, 2011 Typical Day!!!

I sewed until 10 pm last night working on a dress for my young friend, Kristy.  I was making her a t shirt dress that Giannyl had posted a how to video on her website.  Thanks Giannyl!!!  I sewed and talked, talked and sewed, and talked a little more.  We had a great girls night while The Boyzz (my husband - bass player, her fiance`- drummer, and her future father-in- law -lead singer and lead guitar) had band practice in the garage.  By the way, they will be playing at the Tennessee Valley Fair in Knoxville this coming Saturday, September 10 at 7 pm under the Pepsi Tent.  If you like new country, old country, rock a billy, and southern rock, you will see a great show!  Anyway, I have a few adjustments to make to Kristy's dress, and I will have her model for you.  I will also be posting pictures of the pillowcase dresses with matching hair clips soon, so please come back to check them out.  Well back to sewing....

About Me

Hi! I'm Kim...a certified teacher out of work.  I went back to school to get a BA in education to follow my dream of a higher education and being a teacher.  I also wanted to be an example to my children to go for your dreams!  My 3 children are all grown up, and busy with their dreams or finding out what their dreams may be.  My husband is an expert in maintenance, service, and inspection of overhead cranes.  He also is an exceptional bass player and plays with a group called The Boyzz (from Tennessee).  Feel free to check them out on youtube.com or facebook.com under Thee Boyzz.   Since the economy plunged a couple of years ago it has been difficult to find a permanent teaching job, so in the meantime, I am writing and creating sewing projects and the thing is;  I am falling in love with both.  I will be giving everyone the opportunity to purchase some of my creations from hair clips to dresses and eventually one of my books.
